Directions for use
Isypan Constipation can be used from the age of 2 years.
Isypan Constipation shows its effectiveness after 48 hours from intake and can be used for treatments lasting up to 30 days.
Its formulation containing only macrogol 4000 makes it suitable for patients requiring a low-sodium diet, free of galactose, and gluten-free.
It should be diluted with a beverage of choice, cold or hot (about 150 ml): for example, a glass of water, fruit juice, tea, or even milk, stirring until a homogeneous solution is obtained. The absence of flavorings and sweeteners does not alter the taste of the beverage. Drink the reconstituted solution. The product is single-use, do not use sachets partially or already opened. Do not use the device in a way different from that indicated by the manufacturer.
- Adults: the appropriate dose is the minimum necessary to produce regular bowel movements of soft stools and should be adjusted based on observed effects. It ranges from 1 sachet every other day (especially for pediatric use) up to 2 sachets per day. When regular bowel movements are achieved, the dose should be reduced to 1 sachet per day or every other day. The maximum daily dose can be up to 20 g and can be taken in a single administration. Do not exceed the maximum daily dose of 20 g.
- Children: for patients from 2 years of age, the recommended dose is 0.7 g/kg. For weights up to 20 kg, the dosage should be proportionate to body weight as per the doctor’s indications.
Warnings
Do not take Isypan Constipation if hypersensitive to macrogol 4000 and in case of gastrointestinal perforation and/or obstruction. In case of doubt, consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking Isypan Constipation.
As with all laxatives, before starting treatment, organic disorders must be ruled out. Isypan Constipation can be used for prolonged periods, but if symptoms persist despite dietary measures, medical advice is necessary to exclude underlying conditions.
There are no adequate and well-controlled studies; therefore, do not take Isypan Constipation during pregnancy and/or breastfeeding.
Do not take concomitantly with oral medications.
Excessive doses of Isypan Constipation can cause diarrhea, abdominal pain, bloating, and vomiting, which resolve when treatment is stopped or dose reduced. In these circumstances, contact your doctor.
Do not take a double dose of Isypan Constipation to make up for a missed dose.
Keep out of reach of children.
Possible side effects observed in adults and children: diarrhea, abdominal pain, bloating, nausea, vomiting, fecal incontinence, and flatulence. Rare cases of allergic reactions; in such cases, stop using the product and inform your doctor or pharmacist. In case of diarrhea, which usually resolves when treatment is stopped or dose is reduced, it may be advisable to contact the doctor. If any adverse effect worsens or if any new side effect not listed in this leaflet appears, inform your doctor or pharmacist.
Storage
Store the original packaging in a cool, dry place, out of sight and reach of children.
The expiry date refers to the product in unopened and properly stored packaging.
Do not use the product after the expiry date printed on the packaging.
