COMPONENTS AND CHARACTERISTICS

Diosmin: (bioflavonoid), has always been proposed in the treatment of venous insufficiency characterized by nighttime cramps, pain, heaviness, and swelling in the legs but this substance also has anti-edematous, anti-inflammatory, and antivaricose activities, making it useful in the presence of
hemorrhoids, cellulitis, varicose veins, capillary fragility, and related manifestations such as bruising, hematomas, and purpura.

Centella Asiatica: the triterpenic derivatives present in the leaves of Centella are particularly useful for the treatment of chronic venous insufficiency. stimulating collagen production by fibroblasts, causing an increase in the protein structure of the skin, which is important
for the durability of the venous vessel walls and collagen itself.

Black Mulberry: it has long been known that the lyophilized extract of mulberry is capable of fighting fragility and excessive vascular permeability through a well-documented capillary protective action at the level of both venous and arterial blood vessels. This action is explained by the fact that anthocyanins present in the phytocomplex can inhibit the activity of certain enzymes (elastase and collagenase) that destroy collagen and elastic tissues. Several clinical studies have shown that the anthocyanins of Mulberry reduce damage to capillaries significantly compared to placebo.

Pineapple Bromelain: this proteolytic enzyme performs important functions at the level of connective tissue proper and especially in the fibrin. Bromelain in fact has significant fibrinolytic, anti-aggregant, anti-inflammatory, and draining properties, thus reducing the sense of swelling and pain in the lower limbs typical of conditions with poor peripheral circulation capacity.

Orthosiphon Stamineus: is known for its diuretic and purifying action. It increases urine volume moderately, promoting the excretion of sodium, potassium, and also chloride. The diuretic action of the plant is also due to a reduction in fluid retention by the colloids present in tissues and blood. These effects are very useful even in cases of cellulite, as it is known that the affected tissue is rich not only in water but also in uric acid.

Troxerutin: is a bioflavonoid that belongs to the rutoside family. This natural substance has proven to be particularly useful in the treatment of chronic venous insufficiency as it greatly reduces the formation of edematous conditions. It has also been shown effective in preventing inflammatory states of the endothelium and thus preventing chronic alterations of the vascular wall that can lead to severe venous insufficiency conditions; it is also very active on capillaries, improving their function, reducing fragility, and combining these properties with antithrombotic, fibrinolytic, and anti-edema actions.

Vitamin C: exerts its antioxidant activity specifically on connective tissue, for which it provides not only a protective action but also a specifically repairing and regenerative one.

Red Grape: together with black mulberry, it is one of the most well-known and used phytocomplexes when an antioxidant, anti-edema, and microcirculatory protective action are needed. The most important components found in the leaves belong to the category of bioflavonoids (anthocyanidins and proanthocyanidins). In particular, the bioflavonoids of red grape have an intense antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity. Their most significant action occurs at the capillary level, where they positively influence vascular permeability. Proanthocyanidins are able to stabilize collagen fibers and inhibit the catabolic activity of elastase,
an enzyme responsible for degrading this key protein of connective tissue.

Meadow Sweets: the main effect of the coumarin present in Melilotus is on lymphatic drainage, which is essential to ensure the return of fluids present in extracellular spaces to the heart. A deficiency in lymphatic circulation leads to accumulation of these fluids in the tissues and thus swelling, especially common around the ankles. Furthermore, coumarin significantly reduces the breakdown of catecholamines, particularly adrenaline at the vascular level, with a consequent improvement in the contractile capacity of blood vessels.
