Description
ALGISITE M is a sterile dressing based on calcium alginate composed of an absorbent non-woven fiber tablet made of 100% calcium alginate, whose structure minimizes fiber detachment and enhances the cohesion strength of the dressing.
The soft and natural material conforms to the wound bed and promotes a moist environment on the wound. Minimizes trauma to the wound and the patient during removal; easy removal in one piece.
Suitable for partial and full-thickness injuries, with moderate to high exudate, including minor bleeding tendencies, such as: pressure ulcers, lower limb ulcers, surgical wounds, diabetic ulcers, oncological lesions, burns. It can be used in conjunction with compression therapy for lower limb ulcers, where indicated. Facilitates hemostasis control in cases of minor bleeding.
The dressing has high absorption capacity and effectively retains fluids even under compression. The hydrophilic fibers absorb up to 10 times their weight and retain exudate, preventing leaks. It is easy to apply thanks to its softness and high conformability and is easily removable in one piece due to its design to reduce fiber release risk.
Minimizes trauma to the wound and removal pain for the patient.
The dressing can be cut to conform to the wound bed.
The product contains no resins or natural gums (latex) that could be potential allergens.
It does not contain phthalates.

Directions for use
Carefully read the instructions before use.
The dressing, in contact with the wound:
1. absorbs exudate vertically while controlling horizontal dispersion to prevent perilesional skin maceration;
2. rapidly gels, forming and maintaining a moist environment on the wound that promotes healing. Specifically, when ALGISITE™ M absorbs exudate, the sodium ions in the exudate replace the calcium ions in the alginate, transforming it into a soft gel that conforms to the wound bed.

The average application duration ranges from 1 to 7 days, depending on the condition of the dressing. The frequency of dressing change depends on the condition and nature of the wound. Generally, in highly exudative or infected wounds, the dressing should be changed daily, decreasing to twice a week as healing progresses.

Components
Hydrogel dressing made of non-woven fabric of 100% calcium alginate fibers in sheet and strip format, with high mannuronic acid content that provides strength, with a mannuronic acid to guluronic acid ratio of at least 2:1.
Minimum calcium percentage 9%.

Warnings
Do not use on patients with known allergy to alginates.
Single use: do not reuse.

Storage
Store in a cool, dry place below 25°C.
Validity when unopened: 60 months.
