Therapeutic Indications:

Treatment and prevention of infestations by ticks, fleas, and lice in dogs and cats 2 days or older. Fipronil rapidly exerts its lethal action on ticks, preventing the development of the parasite and potential transmission of infections for which the tick is a vector. It is active against the main species of ticks present in the national territory, including Ixodes ricinus, responsible for the transmission of Lyme disease to dogs, cats, and humans. Fipronil acts on fleas by quickly killing the adult forms, thereby preventing egg deposition and hence new infestations. Thanks to its lethal action on adult fleas, fipronil effectively contributes to the control and resolution of Flea Allergy Dermatitis (FAD), which in dogs and cats is caused by the sensitizing action exerted by the antigens contained in the saliva of these parasites. Fipronil also, with a single treatment, quickly and definitively controls and resolves infestations by lice in dogs and cats, particularly those caused by Trichodectes canis, chewing louse of the dog, and Felicola subrostratus, chewing louse of the cat.

Contraindications/Side Effects:

Do not use on animals with extensive skin lesions. Do not use in sick animals (systemic diseases, with fever, etc.) or convalescent animals. Do not use on rabbits, as potentially fatal adverse reactions may occur. Dosage: Spray from 3 to 6 ml/kg of body weight, corresponding to 6-12 sprays (1 spray is equivalent to 0.5 ml), depending on the length of the fur. Tick protection: up to 1 month after treatment in both dogs and cats. Flea protection: up to 5 weeks after treatment in cats; up to 3 months after treatment in dogs. For correct ectoparasite prevention, it is advisable to carry out monthly treatments during peak seasonal periods. Spray 'against the fur' over the entire surface of the animal's body from a distance of 10-20 cm, keeping the bottle upright. For the head and the area around the eyes, apply the product on a glove and gently brush it 'against the fur'. At the end of these operations, allow to dry naturally. Fipronil concentrates in the sebaceous glands of hair follicles within 24 hours after application. Storage: Keep in a cool, dry place, away from flames or heat sources. Warnings: Avoid spraying the product in the animals' eyes, on mucous membranes, and inside the ear. It is important that animals do not lick each other after treatment. It is recommended not to allow dogs to swim in watercourses for 2 days after application of the product as fipronil may be harmful to aquatic organisms. If not properly applied, individual ticks may attach to the dog or cat. For this reason, in the worst case, the transmission of infectious diseases cannot be completely ruled out. Ensure adequate ventilation during the application of the product. Do not inhale or ingest; in case of accidental ingestion, consult a physician. Avoid contact with pregnant women and small children. The product may cause irritation to mucous membranes and eyes. It is therefore advisable to avoid contact with the mouth and eyes. In case of accidental contact with the eyes, rinse abundantly with water. It is recommended to avoid contact with the veterinary medicine in animals or people with established sensitivity to insecticides or alcohol and not to touch the animals until the fur is dry. Wash hands after use.

Interactions: Side Effects:

Transient skin reactions such as erythema, itching, or alopecia after application. Exceptionally, hypersalivation, reversible neurological symptoms (hyperesthesia, lethargy, nervous symptoms), vomiting, or respiratory symptoms have been observed. If the animals lick themselves, transient hypersalivation may occur mainly due to the excipients in the product. Target species: Dogs, cats.
