Description
Esteem+ Soft Convex open bottom is a collection device for disposable opaco ileostomy in a single piece.
The bag attaches to the skin with a hydrocolloid adhesive barrier of varying thickness. The convex structure of the barrier allows for managing displaced and recessed stomas relative to the skin surface.
The bag is equipped with a filter and is primarily intended for ileostomized patients who want a safe device that is easy to apply and remove. The open bottom with integrated Safe Seal closure allows for easy and hygienic emptying of the bag.
The attachment to the abdominal belt ensures greater security of the bag’s adhesion. The external opening window allows monitoring the correct positioning and, if necessary, checking the stoma during use.

Technical Information
The hydrocolloid skin barrier (a mixture of carboxymethylcellulose, pectin, and polyisobutylene) contains a deep convex insert of 4 mm.
The hydrocolloid has varying thickness and is covered on the adhesive surface with a transparent protective card, easily identifiable and removable thanks to a tab.
On the protective card, a circular guideline for cutting facilitates device preparation.
The bag is fitted with an activated carbon filter. Thanks to the structure (MPC-Moisture Protected Composition), the filter allows the escape and deodorization of intestinal gases but prevents liquid passage.
The bag is lined with a soft TNT cloth sealed at the edges. The lining is present on both sides of the bag. On the outer side, the cloth features an inspection window.
The bottom of the bag, made of plastic material, rolls up and closes with a velcro tab.
At the base of the skin barrier are soft rings made of plastic material for attachment to the abdominal belt, to be added as needed.
The identification code is printed on the bag.
Adhesive surface: diameter 110 mm.
Bag size: 150 x 220 mm.

Usage Instructions
Clean the skin around the stoma with water and dry with a soft cloth.
Make sure the skin is completely dry. Do not use oily products for cleaning as they may compromise the adhesion of the skin barrier.
Ensure you know the diameter of the stoma.
Esteem+ Soft Convex is available in pre-cut and cut-to-fit versions in different sizes. If the bag is not pre-cut, you can use the cutting guide on the barrier if available.
It is very important that the opening of the adhesive barrier is customized to the size of the stoma. Cut the barrier opening so that it reproduces the same diameter as the stoma or just slightly larger.
Introduce a small amount of air inside the bag to separate the layers. Warm the barrier by holding it in your hands for a few seconds to facilitate adhesion.
Remove the plastic film from the back of the skin barrier. Avoid touching the adhesive area too much with your fingers.
Position the skin barrier below the stoma. Starting from the bottom, press the barrier onto the peristomal skin.
Smooth the adhesive surface with your fingers, applying gentle pressure around the stoma.
For ileostomy or colostomy patients who need to empty the bag frequently during the day, an open-bottom bag is available that allows emptying, cleaning, and resealing the bottom.
Follow these tips when using an open-bottom bag with Safe Seal closure:
- ensure the bottom of the bag is properly closed
- fold the bag's neck 5 times until the two Velcro surfaces are perfectly aligned. Press firmly to latch and create a secure seal
- apply the bag as described. Pull the tab to open the bottom and empty the bag.
To remove the bag, gently detach the adhesive barrier from top to bottom.
Simultaneously, keep the hand free and placed on the skin above the barrier.
This operation helps avoid skin irritation and facilitates removal.
Empty the contents of the bag into the toilet.

Warnings
The device is disposable and cannot be reused. Reusing it may cause infections or cross-contamination. The device may not work as effectively if reused.
When using a cut-to-fit product, ensure that the prepared opening is not too large. Empty spaces can cause skin irritation and redness. Be careful not to enlarge the opening beyond the last traced circle on the cutting guide or the edge, exposing the internal plastic of the convex disc.
Do not toss the bag into the toilet.
For disposal, follow local regulations.
The need for a convex device should be assessed by a healthcare professional.

Storage
Expiry date from the date of manufacture, in intact packaging: 60 months.

Each package contains 10 bags and 10 adhesive filter cover stickers.
