Description
Dietary supplement based on organic borage oil that promotes joint function, the integrity and functionality of cell membranes, trophism and skin function. It is a product free of preservatives, GMO free and non-irradiated.
Borage oil is obtained by simple cold pressing from the plant's seeds, without the use of solvents. It is one of the richest plant sources of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), an essential fatty acid of the omega-6 series. Also present are linoleic, oleic, palmitic, stearic acids, alongside alpha-linolenic acid, an omega-3 fatty acid.
The intake of GLA allows crossing the first ring blockade of the chain and enables the normal occurrence of the biological process of prostaglandin production, which intervenes in inflammatory reactions, as antihypertensive agents and platelet aggregation inhibitors. Borage oil does not have hypotensive properties, but interferes with biochemical and cellular mechanisms that cause hypertension, that is, with the aldosterone-renin-angiotensin system.
Gamma-linolenic acid is a fundamental essential fatty acid crucial for life itself, an important component of cells and subcellular organelles, participating in the structure of the membranes that delimit them. As a fatty acid, it is also indispensable for the proper metabolism of all lipid fractions (triglycerides and cholesterol). The ratio between fatty acids and cholesterol is vital.
A deficiency of unsaturated fatty acids can lead to fragile and dull hair, nail fragility, dandruff and predispose to the onset of hay fever, bronchial asthma, and allergies in general, skin disorders such as eczema, dermatitis, infantile eczema, non-allergic eczema, acne and dry skin, psoriasis, cardiac disorders, abnormalities of the circulatory system and kidneys. The anti-aging action of omega-6 essential fatty acids is carried out through the stimulation of suppressor T lymphocytes, which inhibit the proliferation of smooth muscle cells in the arterial wall, lipid alterations, and associated cardiovascular disorders. Unsaturated fatty acids have proven effective in preventing prostate disorders and nervous hyperactivity. They are essential for normal glandular activity, especially of the adrenal glands and thyroid.
The administration of GLA reduces the proliferation and activation of intra-articular T lymphocytes and a double-blind clinical trial has demonstrated that borage oil is useful in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, reducing stiffness and joint swelling.
For topical applications, it is useful in cases of dermatitis, wrinkles, stretch marks, dry and cracked skin. GLA is effective as an emollient, decongestant, and cellular regulator; it has also been shown to promote the maintenance of the skin’s natural hydration by counteracting trans-epidermal evaporation processes and thus improving skin hydration and elasticity. Also excellent as an anti-aging treatment.

Usage instructions
2 teaspoons per day, taken pure or raw as a condiment for salads, cereals, soups, pasta. For cosmetic use, apply with a suitable massage until fully absorbed.

No controlled clinical studies are known in pregnant or breastfeeding women: in accordance with general medical practice, the product should not be used without first consulting a doctor.

Storage
Store in a cool, dry place and away from heat sources. After opening, keep refrigerated. The expiration date refers to the product properly stored in original packaging.
