LUTEIN D₃

Dietary supplement of Lutein and Zeaxanthin, Vitamin D3 and Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA) of algal origin. Suitable in cases of increased need or decreased dietary intake of its components across all age groups. It may be particularly useful in preventing retinal or macular damage caused by excess free radicals or where greater protection against oxidative stress is required or during the development of visual function.
      Lutein and Zeaxanthin
They are two carotenoids widely found in nature that the human body cannot synthesize. These substances are normally obtained through foods rich in them (green leafy vegetables such as kale and spinach, fruit like apricots, kiwis, etc.) and in infants, they are acquired through breast milk. After absorption, lutein and zeaxanthin are distributed throughout tissues but selectively accumulate in the eye and skin. Specifically, they concentrate in the retina and the lutea macula, the site of sharp image formation, whose development completes around the 4th-5th month of life. Lutein and zeaxanthin help maintain the functionality and integrity of the eye's sensitive structures (retina and macula) by preventing or minimizing damage induced by free radicals, cross the placental barrier, and are also present in colostrum and breast milk.
Lutein and zeaxanthin can therefore be useful for eye health, both in adults and children from early life. Supplementation is necessary in situations of increased needs or insufficient intake, both during the maturation of ocular structures responsible for visual function (macula) and for their preservation.
      Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA)
It is a long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acid found in fats of animal and plant origin and in small amounts in breast milk. DHA selectively concentrates in the cell membranes of central nervous system and retinal cells, positively influencing their maturation and activity. At the brain level, recent research has demonstrated that DHA can have a positive effect on cognitive development. At the ocular level, supplementation with DHA helps improve visual function.
      Vitamin D3
Necessary to combat the risk of rickets and chronic degenerative diseases, such as osteoporosis. Rickets is a disorder of normal bone development, and premature or low birth weight children or those exclusively breastfed are at increased risk of such conditions.

How to use
0.5 ml (equivalent to 14 drops) indicated on the dropper, twice a day.
