FRONTLINE COMBO SPOT-ON CATS/FERRETS 6PIPETTES

Active ingredients
Each pipette of 0.5 ml contains: fipronil 50.00 mg, (S)-methoprene 60.00 mg, butylhydroxytoluene (E320) 0.10 mg, butylhydroxytoluene (E321) 0.05 mg.
Excipients
Butylhydroxytoluene (E320), butylhydroxytoluene (E321), ethanol, polysorbate 80 (E433), povidone, monoethyl glycol ether.
Indications
CATS: to be used against infestations by fleas, alone or associated with ticks and biting lice. Eliminates fleas (Ctenocephalides spp.). The insecticidal activity against new infestations by adult fleas persists for 4 weeks. Prevents the multiplication of fleas by inhibiting the development of eggs (ovicide activity), pupae, and larvae (larvicidal activity) born from eggs laid by adult fleas, for 6 weeks after application. Eliminates ticks (Ixodes ricinus, Dermacentor variabilis, Rhipicephalus sanguineus). The product has a tick activity lasting up to 2 weeks (based on experimental data). Eliminates biting lice (Felicola subrostratus). The product can be used in the program for the control of Flea Allergy Dermatitis (FAD). FERRETS: to be used against flea infestations, alone or associated with ticks. Eliminates fleas (Ctenocephalides spp.). The insecticidal activity against new infestations by adult fleas persists for 4 weeks. Prevents the multiplication of fleas by inhibiting the development of eggs (ovicide activity), pupae, and larvae (larvicidal activity) born from eggs laid by adult fleas. Eliminates ticks (Ixodes ricinus). The product has acaricidal activity against ticks lasting for 4 weeks (based on experimental data).
Contraindications/side effects
In the absence of data, do not use the product in kittens under 8 weeks of age and/or weighing less than 1 kg. Do not use the product in ferrets less than 6 months old. Do not use in sick animals (e.g., systemic diseases, fever) or convalescent animals. Do not use in rabbits, as adverse reactions may occur that could potentially be fatal. In the absence of studies, it is recommended not to use the product in species other than the target species.

Use/route of administration
Topical.
Dosage
One pipette of 0.5 ml per cat, corresponding to the minimum recommended dose of 5 mg/kg of fipronil and 6 mg/kg of (S)-methoprene, for topical cutaneous application. In the absence of safety data, the minimum treatment interval should be 4 weeks. One pipette of 0.5 ml per ferret, corresponding to 50 mg of fipronil and 60 mg of (S)-methoprene, for topical cutaneous application. The minimum treatment interval should be 4 weeks. Method of administration: hold the pipette upright and lightly tap the narrow part of the pipette so that the liquid inside remains in the wide part of the pipette. Break the pre-cut tip. Open the fur at the base of the neck, on the back of the animal, between the shoulder blades, and expose the skin. Place the tip of the pipette on the skin and squeeze the pipette multiple times until completely emptied, applying the product at one point, directly on the skin.
Storage
Store at a temperature below 30 degrees C. Store in the original package.
Warnings
Avoid contact with the animal's eyes. It is important that the product is applied in an area where the animal cannot lick itself and ensure that animals do not lick each other after treatment. In cats and ferrets, there is no information on how many immersions in water or baths may interfere with the product's activity. However, based on data obtained from dogs washed starting 2 days post-application of the product, it is advised to avoid baths for 2 days after applying the product. Single ticks may attach to the cat. For this reason, under unfavorable conditions, the transmission of infectious diseases cannot be completely excluded. Fleas present on animals often infest the animal's bed, blankets, and areas where the animal lives, particularly carpets, curtains, and upholstery; these should be treated with a suitable insecticide and regularly cleaned with a vacuum in case of mass infestations and at the beginning of the antiparasitic treatment. The potential toxicity in kittens under 8 weeks of age in contact with a treated mother is not documented. In such cases, particular attention is advised. Special precautions for those administering the product to animals: the product may cause irritation to the mucous membranes, skin, and eyes. It is therefore recommended to avoid contact with the mouth, skin, and eyes. It is recommended to avoid contact with animals or people with known sensitivities to insecticides or alcohol. Avoid allowing the contents to come into contact with hands. In such cases, wash hands with water and soap. In case of accidental contact with eyes, rinse abundantly with water. Wash hands after use. Do not touch animals and do not let children play with treated animals until the application site is dry. It is therefore recommended not to treat animals during the day, but to treat them in the evening and, if just treated, not to let them sleep with their owners, particularly with children. Do not smoke, drink or eat during application. Overdose: the risk of the onset of side effects may increase in case of overdose. Cats: in safety studies, no side effects were observed in cats and kittens 8 weeks and older and weighing about 1 kg, treated once a month at doses five times higher than the recommended dose for six consecutive months. Itching may occur following treatment. The application of a dose higher than the recommended one results in a wet and sticky appearance of the fur at the application site. However, if it occurs, this will disappear within 24 hours of application. Ferrets: in ferrets 6 months and older treated every 2 weeks for four times, at doses five times higher than the recommended dose, a decrease in body weight was observed in some subjects.

Adverse effects
Cats: among the extremely rare phenomena of suspected adverse reactions, transient skin reactions at the application site (scaling, localized hair loss, itching, redness) and generalized itching or hair loss after application have been described. Hypersalivation, reversible neurological symptoms (increased sensitivity to stimuli, depression, other nervous symptoms) or vomiting have also been observed. If animals lick themselves, transient hypersalivation may occur primarily due to the excipients of the product.
Pregnancy and lactation
Cats: the product may be used during pregnancy. Laboratory studies in cats have not provided any evidence of teratogenic, fetotoxic, or maternotoxic effects. Lactation: the potential toxicity in kittens under 8 weeks of age in contact with a treated mother is not documented. In such cases, particular attention is advised. Ferrets: the safety of the veterinary medicinal product during pregnancy and lactation in ferrets has not been established. Use only in accordance with the risk/benefit assessment.
