DESCRIPTION

GSE Test HP is the scientific, simple, and accurate tool that allows you to diagnose the infection from Helicobacter pylori in the comfort of your home: an immunochromatographic test for the search of the Helicobacter pylori antigen in human fecal samples. It provides a certain result in just 10 minutes, the execution is easy and allows the analysis of samples obtained from everyone: children, adults, and the elderly. It specifically detects the bacterial antigen of Helicobacter pylori (HpSA) in the stool, indicating whether an infection is ongoing.

INDICATIONS

This test has been used since 2007 by professionals and in analysis laboratories and hospitals. Scientific studies demonstrate that the method has an accuracy comparable to that of the Urea Breath Test. If the bacterial antigen HpSA is present in the stool sample, it will selectively react with the specific monoclonal antibodies present on the membrane, forming a colored complex, which will appear as a red band in the T area of the specific indicator.

Helicobacter pylori is a bacterium capable of withstanding and reproducing in the highly acidic environment of the stomach; this is possible because it produces an enzyme, urease, which, through the release of ammonia, neutralizes gastric acidity, creating a microenvironment around the bacterium compatible with its existence. Once established in the stomach, it subjects the gastric mucosa to aggression from numerous toxins produced during its metabolism. The substances secreted (including ammonia and enzymes such as protease, catalase, and phospholipase) and the movements it makes (it has flagella that allow it to move in helical movements, hence the name Helicobacter) are damaging to the gastro-duodenal mucosa and lead, over time, to the development of problems such as gastritis, ulcers, and inflammation; the close connection between the presence of this bacterium in the stomach and the development of gastritis and ulcer is now demonstrated.

The infection from Helicobacter pylori is associated with pathological conditions such as dyspepsia, halitosis, gastroesophageal reflux disease, gastritis, gastric and duodenal ulcers. Furthermore, the infection from Helicobacter pylori increases the risk of gastric lesions in patients treated with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). The eradication of the bacterium significantly improves these problems.

Chronic contamination from Helicobacter pylori is also implicated in the pathogenesis of gastric carcinoma and lymphoma. The infection from Helicobacter pylori is very widespread; the incidence increases with age, probably due to the progressive weakening of the immune system and the decrease in gastric juice production. The underlying cause of such a wide spread of the Helicobacter pylori infection is the gradual loss of health and balance in the intestinal environment (dysbiosis), a situation that is increasingly widespread, especially in the Western world. Unbalanced nutrition produces decidedly negative effects on the delicate balance of the intestinal ecosystem, as it provides insufficient fiber intake and excessive consumption of refined carbohydrates and animal proteins. Poor eating habits and the quality of food, along with the abuse of drugs (especially antibiotics), are among the main causes of intestinal dysbiosis, resulting in weakened immune defenses and increased susceptibility to illness. Hence the importance of timely diagnosis in order to then start a targeted therapy that leads to the eradication of Helicobacter pylori and the restoration of the functional and protective integrity of the mucosa itself.

Mode of use:

The package contains 1 bottle of GSE Test HP Liquid Extraction, 1 sealed aluminum bag containing GSE Test HP Card, 1 plastic bag for the disposal of the used material, instruction leaflet. The test is carried out by collecting a small amount of feces with the specific stick and dispersing the sample in the extraction liquid contained in the bottle. Three drops of the solution obtained must then be deposited inside the circular window present in the GSE Test HP Card device. If the bacterial antigen HpSA is present in the sample, it will selectively react with the specific monoclonal antibodies present on the membrane, forming a colored complex, which will be visible as a red band in the T area of the specific indicator. If the test is positive, two red bands appear, one in the control area, marked with the letter C, and one in the test area, marked with the letter T. If the test is negative, only a colored red band appears in the control area (C), while no colored band appears in the test area (T).Warnings: to avoid false negative results, before performing the GSE Test HP (as with the Urea Breath Test), it is necessary to suspend any ongoing drug therapy according to the following modalities: 1 day before antacids; 7 days before H2 antagonists; 14 days before proton pump inhibitors. In the case of antibiotic therapy, perform the test after at least 14 days have passed since the end of the therapy.
