IDROFLOG - (Sodium hyaluronate 2 mg/ml, Hydrocortisone 10 µm) - ophthalmic solution

Ophthalmic solution containing sodium hyaluronate which, thanks to its muco-mimetic and pseudo-plastic properties, spreads evenly over the ocular surface forming a protective viscoelastic bandage. In this way, by exerting a mechanical action ("barrier effect"), Idroflog stabilizes the tear film and reduces the friction caused by eye movements and blinking, protects the surface of the eye promoting the repair processes resulting from suffering of the corneal epithelial cells due to a hyposcretion of the tear film. In fact, in cases where the glands responsible for the secretion of the film reduce, for various factors, their normal activity, the corneal surface remains more exposed to external insults. These, over time, cause malfunctions of the corneal epithelial cells with an associated risk of the onset of unpleasant inflammatory processes. The application of the Idroflog bandage protects the corneal surface from exposure to external insults and, thanks to the ancillary action of hydrocortisone sodium phosphate (low-dose corticosteroid, low anti-inflammatory power, and short duration of action), helps to prevent the risk of any recurrences of inflammatory phenomena. Idroflog is intended for limited use over time and anyway under the direct control of the specialist doctor. Finally, Idroflog, thanks to its particular saline composition, restores and maintains physiological levels of important ions, such as sodium, potassium, and magnesium, essential for the well-being of the ocular surface. The device contains no preservatives.

Composition
Sodium hyaluronate 2 mg/ml, hydrocortisone sodium phosphate 10 mcg/ml, trisodium citrate, sodium chloride, potassium chloride, magnesium chloride, dibasic sodium phosphate, monobasic sodium phosphate, water for injections.

Usage Instructions
Idroflog must be dosed individually according to one's state and based on the recommendations of one's ophthalmologist. In general, instill 1-2 drops of the solution into the conjunctival sac of the eye to be treated, 2-4 times a day. The total duration of treatment is 2-6 months but must be specifically established by the specialist and anyway under their direct control (a follow-up every 30-45 days is recommended).
How to apply: detach a single vial from the strip. Remove the top tab by turning it. Instill 1-2 drops into the conjunctival sac, dropping from above. Idroflog can also be used when wearing contact lenses.

Warnings
The product, due to its viscoelastic properties, at the time of installation may cause transient blurred vision. Wait for this effect to subside before driving vehicles or using machinery.
Idroflog is for external use only. It should not be used immediately before the administration of medicinal products for therapeutic purposes, and within twenty minutes after the application of any topical pharmacological therapy. If during treatment there is a worsening of symptoms, contact a doctor as soon as possible. Prolonged use may lead to inconveniences: the total duration of treatment must be determined by the ophthalmologist. In cases where an inflammatory process is already underway, the specialist doctor will decide on the appropriate anti-inflammatory therapy in order to restore the physiological conditions of the ocular surface. To reduce the risk of contamination during use, it is advisable to open the aluminum pouch only in case of immediate subsequent use of the product. Avoid having the tip of the vial come into direct contact with fingers, the eye, or any other surface. In rare cases, slight blurred vision has been observed upon instillation, which is due to the viscosity of the solution. During instillation, slight burning may occur. This sensation, however, is expected to subside. Contact your ophthalmologist if symptoms persist. Adhering to the instructions in the leaflet reduces the risk of undesirable effects. The product is for single use: after the first use, discard the vial even if it contains residual solution.

Storage
Store at a temperature between 2°C and 25°C.
