Iron Fast Selftest

Description
Self-test device for detecting iron deficiency in the blood.
Iron Fast Self Test is a rapid immunodiagnostic test for evaluating ferritin (a protein capable of storing iron in cells) from a blood sample taken from the finger. Therefore, Iron Fast Self Test could be used for screening potential iron deficiencies.
Warning: this test is not suitable for patients with suspected or diagnosed hemochromatosis.

Mode of use
The testing procedure always begins with good preparation. Place the contents of the box on a clean, dry, flat surface (e.g., a table).
1. Wash your hands thoroughly. Use soap and warm water. Dry your hands with a clean towel.
2. Prepare the test device and the pipette.
Remove them from the protective case (tear at the notch) and keep them within reach (they will be needed later). Discard the desiccant packet.
3. Prepare the lancet
Hold the lancet without touching the activation button. Unlock the lancet cap by rotating it a quarter turn until you hear it detach from the lancet, then continue to rotate it (2-3 turns). Do not pull, just rotate and dispose of the cap once finished.
4. Clean the middle or ring finger tip with alcohol-soaked cotton. Rub the chosen finger towards the tip for 10-15 seconds to improve blood flow.
5. Press the platform firmly against the previously cleaned part of the finger and press the release button.
6. The tip will retract automatically into the device body.
7. Rub the finger tip to obtain a sufficient amount of blood.
8. Without pressing the bulb, bring the plastic pipette into contact with the blood sample. The blood will migrate into the pipette by capillarity up to the indicated line on the pipette. You can rub the finger again to get more blood if the line is not reached. As much as possible, avoid air bubbles.
9. Place the collected blood with the pipette into the device's well by pressing the pipette bulb.
10. Wait 30-40 seconds for the blood to be fully absorbed into the sample well. Unscrew the blue cap of the dropper bottle of diluent (keep the white cap tightly screwed) and add the diluent as follows:
Hold the dropper bottle vertically and slowly add exactly 4 drops into the sample well of the device with 2-3 seconds interval between each drop.
11. Read the result within 10 minutes. Do not interpret after 15 minutes.

Interpretation of results
The intensity and color of the lines have no importance for interpreting the test results. 1. Positive result
Only one colored line appears under the Control mark (C).
This result indicates that the ferritin concentration in the blood is too low. Reserves are insufficient. Consult a doctor because you might be suffering from iron deficiency.
2. Negative result
Two colored lines appear in the window under the T (Test) and C (Control) marks. The intensity of the T line may be lighter than the C line. This result indicates that the ferritin concentration in the blood is normal and there is no potential iron deficiency.
3. Invalid result
No line appears under the T (Test) mark or a colored line appears without any line under the C (Control) mark. In this case, the test cannot be interpreted and is considered invalid.
It is recommended to repeat the test with a new Iron Fast Self Test device and a new blood sample.

Precautions
1. This test is intended solely for in vitro diagnostic use. For external use only. Do not ingest.
2. Carefully read the instructions before performing the test. The test is interpretable only if the instructions are followed strictly.
Carefully respect the indicated times, amounts of blood and diluent.
3. Store between 4°C and 30°C. Do not freeze.
4. Do not use after the expiration date printed on the label and protective bag or if this bag is damaged.
5. Do not reuse Iron Fast Self Test.
6. Keep out of reach of children.
7. After use, all components can be disposed of in waste.

Format
The box contains all the necessary materials to perform a test.
1 sealed aluminum pouch containing:
- 1 test device;
- 1 plastic pipette;
- 1 desiccant packet.
Only open the protective bag when ready to perform the test.
The desiccant packet should not be used.
- 1 sterile blood collection lancet;
- 1 1mL dropper bottle of diluent;
- 1 instruction leaflet with Instructions for use.
