Description
Medical device based on Macrogol 4,000 and psyllium fiber indicated for the treatment of occasional and chronic constipation in adults, adolescents, and children.
Laxative action product that, thanks to the osmotic mechanism, regulates intestinal functions. It is not absorbed, does not irritate the mucosa, and is eliminated in the stool in unchanged form.
- Macrogol draws, through osmosis, a high amount of liquids into the intestinal compartment, hydrating the stool mass and stimulating peristalsis.
- The mucilages present in the psyllium fiber, absorbing the liquids drawn into the intestinal lumen by macrogol, increase in volume (up to 30-40 times their dry volume), enlarging and softening the fecal mass.
Macrostip Psyllium softens the stool, facilitating gentle evacuation.
Its action does not diminish over time.

Ingredients
One 9 g sachet contains Macrogol 4,000 5 g, psyllium fiber 3 g.
Excipients: fructose, magnesium stearate, natural flavor, sucralose.

Method of use
Adults: 2 sachets per day preferably in the morning and evening.
Children and adolescents aged 6 to 14 years: 1 sachet per day.
The duration of treatment is about 2 weeks. For long-term treatment, the dose is 1 sachet per day.
Open a sachet and pour the contents into a glass (200 ml). Fill with natural water (non-carbonated). Mix well for about 10 seconds and drink immediately after diluting the powder. Any increase in the consistency of the solution is a characteristic of the product. To achieve optimal results, it is recommended to subsequently drink 1-2 glasses of water. It is advisable to take Macrostip Psyllium away from meals, at any time of the day, up to half an hour before bedtime.

Warnings
Do not take if you have a known hypersensitivity to the raw materials, gastrointestinal perforation and/or obstruction, known gastric or intestinal lesions, severe inflammatory diseases of the gastrointestinal tract such as Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, and toxic megacolon.
Due to the increase in gastrointestinal transit speed induced by the product, there is a possibility that its use in conjunction with other products or drugs may temporarily reduce intestinal absorption. Additionally, psyllium seeds could enhance the effect of cholesterol-lowering and hypoglycemic products or drugs. Therefore, in such cases, it is advisable to take Macrostip Psyllium at least 2 hours before or 2 hours after taking such products or medications. Always consult your doctor before using Macrostip Psyllium if you are on other therapies, including oral contraceptives and lithium-based drugs. Macrostip Psyllium may potentially interact if used with food thickeners based on starch. The macrogol ingredient opposes the thickening effect of starch, thus liquefying preparations that need to remain dense for people with swallowing difficulties.
During its use, unwanted effects such as indigestion, stomach pain or rumbling, swelling, flatulence, nausea, vomiting, anal irritation, and mild diarrhea may occur. These effects tend to improve by reducing the dose. In case of allergic reactions, discontinue use and contact your doctor. If any adverse effects occur, inform your doctor or pharmacist.
Keep out of reach and sight of children. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, consult a doctor before using the product. Use in children under 12 years should preferably be under medical supervision. Do not use Macrostip sachets for more than 30 consecutive days; if symptoms persist, consult your doctor. Avoid contact with eyes. Do not use if the package is damaged. Treatment of fecal impaction requires prior medical consultation.

Storage
Store the device tightly closed in a cool, dry place, protected from light and heat.
