Food supplement of folic acid, vitamin B2, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, vitamin E, lutein, zinc, copper, selenium, and ginkgo biloba extract. These nutrients are capable of counteracting the oxidative phenomena of free radicals that are at the base of aging processes and cell death and cerebral vascular damage and in various other organs. Daily diet does not always allow an appropriate intake of these substances and in the elderly the situation is worsened by their reduced absorption. The increase in oxidative phenomena, especially those related to air pollution, smoking, exposure to sunlight, and the reduced availability of specific antioxidant agents, causes an increase in degenerative diseases affecting some ocular structures with complex energy metabolism: the retina and in particular the macular zone. It is indeed at this level that light radiation contacts the photoreceptors allowing vision. Therefore, a correct antioxidant potential is necessary to maintain the balance between oxidative processes and cellular ones at the retinal level.
The components of MACULAR B forte act as normalizers of physiological cellular processes:
      Zinc and Copper
They are involved in numerous enzymatic activities at the retinal level and are important in age-related degenerations.
      Selenium and Vitamin E
They are powerful antioxidants essential to slow down cellular aging processes and, therefore, to prevent degenerative ones.
      Lutein
It is a xanthophyll that concentrates selectively in the retina thus becoming the pigment of the macula lutea where it performs its protective action on the delicate macular structures against high-energy ultraviolet radiation.
      Ginkgo Biloba
It is a plant extract with a high concentration of flavonoids to which important activities are attributed also at the level of nervous tissues such as the retina. Besides antioxidant activity in lipoperoxidative processes, it plays a leading role in the context of neuron energy metabolism and against the enzyme aldose reductase.
      Vitamins B2, B6, B12, and Folic Acid
They are considered a valid contribution to controlling homocysteine levels in the blood. These vitamins are also useful to minimize the risk of occlusion in the veins and arteries of the retina. An antioxidant action of these vitamins is also hypothesized.

Directions for use
