Description
UrgoClean Ag is an innovative non-woven fabric dressing, absorbent and gelling, composed of polyabsorbent fibers in polyacrylate that ensure complete cleansing and debridement action (from slough, fibrin, exudate, bacterial and biofilm residues) and a TLC-Ag lipido colloidal matrix that has antimicrobial action. The combined action of the TLC-Ag matrix and the polyabsorbent fibers allows for antimicrobial, anti-biofilm, and complete cleansing action.
- The TLC-Ag matrix of UrgoClean Ag gels on contact with the wound exudate, reducing the bacterial load of the wound with rapid and broad-spectrum action (tested on 36 bacterial strains and 4 yeasts, including antibiotic-resistant bacterial strains—MRSA, VRE, ESBL).
- When in contact with the wound, UrgoClean Ag's polyabsorbent fibers gel and break the biofilm matrix, allowing silver ions to carry out their bactericidal action within the biofilm. The combined action of the polyabsorbent fibers and the TLC-Ag matrix has been shown to effectively reduce the concentration of sessile bacteria MRSA and P.aeruginosa within 24 hours and over 7 days (biofilm reduction > 99.99%). UrgoClean Ag's anti-biofilm action surpasses that of Silver Hydrofiber+Extra and DACC dressings.
- UrgoClean Ag removes factors that promote bacterial proliferation and can limit silver's effectiveness. The polyabsorbent fibers in UrgoClean Ag absorb and trap slough, exudate, and biofilm residues through an electrostatic mechanism. Clinical evidence shows that after 4 weeks of treatment, UrgoClean Ag reduces slough by 62.5% and cleanses 59% of lesions (dressed lesion = lesion covered with less than 30% slough).
- The dressing is removed in one piece thanks to the acrylic core in the polyabsorbent fibers.
- UrgoClean Ag ensures atraumatic and painless care thanks to the moist environment provided by the TLC-Ag3 matrix.
- UrgoClean manages minor bleeding due to its hemostatic properties.
- UrgoClean Ag is trimable and can be used with a secondary dressing.
- UrgoClean Ag can be combined with compression therapy when prescribed.

Composition
Antimicrobial dressing made entirely of polyabsorbent fibers in polyacrylate, cleansing and gelling agents, and a micro-adherent lipido colloidal matrix TLC-Ag (TLC-Ag: Lipido-Colloid Technology, composed of carboxymethylcellulose particles, lipid substances, and silver salts) to combat local infection through combined antimicrobial/biofilm action and complete cleansing. UrgoClean Ag has the capacity to cleanse and maintain the wound clean.

Directions for use
Cleanse the wound using the conventional care protocol, then rinse with physiological solution. If an antiseptic was previously used, rinse the wound thoroughly with physiological solution before applying UrgoClean Ag. The use of UrgoClean Ag does not eliminate the need for mechanical debridement if necessary. Remove the protective tabs and place the micro-adherent side of UrgoClean Ag in contact with the wound and surrounding skin. If needed, cut UrgoClean Ag with sterile scissors to fit the size of the wound. It is recommended to use a bandage to secure the dressing and ensure it stays in place. Additionally, UrgoClean Ag can be covered with a secondary dressing suitable for the wound location and exudation level. If prescribed, apply compression therapy. The UrgoClean Ag dressing should be replaced every 1-2 days initially, then as needed (up to 7 days) depending on exudate amount and clinical condition of the wound. Treatment with UrgoClean Ag should not be prolonged beyond one month.
The micro-adherent TLC-Ag matrix in UrgoClean Ag can adhere to latex surgical gloves. It is advisable to moisten gloves with normal saline for easier handling of the dressing. During debridement, the wound may appear larger than usual due to effective slough removal.

Warnings
Contraindicated in cases of known allergy to silver.
UrgoClean Ag is not recommended for use as a surgical sponge for highly exuding wounds.
Do not use UrgoClean Ag in combination with hydrogen peroxide, organo-mercury based antiseptics, or chlorhexidine antiseptics.
Do not use on patients undergoing MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging).
The treatment with UrgoClean Ag must be performed under medical supervision.
The use of UrgoClean Ag does not replace the need for systemic antibacterial treatment for infection, according to the local protocol.
Concomitant use with other topical treatments is not recommended.
Avoid contact with electrodes or conductive gels used in EEG or ECG.
Healthcare personnel should be informed about the limited information, scarce data on prolonged and repeated use of silver dressings, especially in children and infants.
In the absence of specific clinical data, use during pregnancy or breastfeeding is not recommended.
Sterile, single-use individual packages: reusing a single-use package may pose infection risks.
Do not re-sterilize the dressing.
Before use, ensure the sterile protective film is intact. Do not use if the packaging is damaged.

Storage
Store at room temperature away from light and heat sources.
Shelf life when packaging is intact: 36 months.
