MU Bronco.mu 30ml

The components of the phyto-complex bronco.mu perform a synergistic action capable of giving the product particular fluidifying, expectorant, and sedative effects for dry and catarrhal cough. It can be useful against disorders, seasonal or not, of the respiratory system characterized by cough, phlegm, and difficulty in expectoration.

MODE OF USE
10 drops 3 times a day.
It is recommended to dilute the drops in water, tea, or milk which, in winter, can be warm.

COMPOSITION
The daily dose of 1.5 ml equivalent to 30 drops, in hydroalcoholic solution, contains:
Thymus serpyllum (thyme) - flowering tops 375 mg
Eucalyptus globulus (eucalyptus) - leaves 375 mg
Drosera rotundifolia (sundew) - whole plant 281 mg
Verbascum thapsus (mullein) - aerial parts 281 mg
Plantago lanceolata (plantain) - whole plant 188 mg

PROPERTIES OF COMPONENTS
Thymus serpyllum:
Recent pharmacological studies have shown that the spasmolytic effect is attributable to the flavonoid fraction and the expectorant effect to the presence of terpenes. The antitussive and antibacterial action is instead attributed to thymol and carvacrol. The expectorant and secretomotor activity of thyme is also attributed
to the presence of saponins. The antiseptic action is followed by an increase in bronchial secretion and a
enhancement of ciliary movements in the bronchi. The more modern and recent use of thyme is as an
immunostimulant: according to recent research, the phyto-complex has shown antiviral activity, proving
suitable for the treatment of some affections and complications of the upper respiratory tract. Finally, due to its tonic action, it is ideal, besides countering the discomforts and affections typical of the winter season, as
an adjunct for generalized asthenic states.
Drosera rotundifolia:
The phyto-complex of sundew is rich in active principles of different nature, all recognized as responsible
for the properties of the plant. Classes of components such as naphthoquinone derivatives, glycosides, tannins, flavonoids, and anthocyanins, proteolytic enzymes, minerals, and organic acids have indeed been identified, all contributing to the phytotherapeutic properties of the plant. Pharmacological studies have confirmed an antispasmodic, antitussive, and secretolytic action. A vagolytic action on smooth muscle has been hypothesized.
The active constituent "plumbagina", a naphthoquinone derivative, has shown antibacterial action in vitro,
against Gram+ and Gram- (such as staphylococci, streptococci, pneumococci, H. pertussis), influenza virus, fungi, and protozoa. An immunostimulating action, in vitro, has finally been documented.
Verbascum thapsus:
Existing studies confirm the expectorant and anti-inflammatory action thanks to the interaction between saponins and
mucin. Surely, the presence of mucin has a covering and protective effect on epithelial tissues, while saponins are responsible for the expectorant action. Iridoids could play an anti-inflammatory role.

Eucalyptus globulus:
The properties of eucalyptus are attributed to the phyto-complex of the leaves which, when dried, contain from 1
to 8% essence. Analytical techniques of gas chromatography have allowed the identification of as many as 70
components of the essence, of which 48 have been identified: the most important is eucalyptol or 1,8-cineole, present up to 85%, in a mixture of monoterpenes and sesquiterpenes. The leaves are also rich in
flavonoids and ellagic tannins (especially rutin), which synergistically with the essential oil, are strongly bacteriostatic, especially against staphylococci, enterococci, pneumococci, and streptococci. The effects of eucalyptol on the respiratory tract are attributed to both a direct bronchodilator action, which
occurs via relaxation of the smooth muscle of the bronchi, and to the promotion of the production
of a more abundant and fluid mucus, easily expectorated. Eucalyptol has also proven useful for
inhibiting the replication of some viruses (influenza and Herpes simplex).
Plantago lanceolata:
The iridoids present in the drug are responsible for the anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial activity. Today, the
drug is used in treating inflammatory states due to the emollient and sedative action
of the mucilages contained. The presence of acubin also gives the leaves an antihistaminic-like activity.

CONTRAINDICATIONS AND SIDE EFFECTS
Pharmacological studies report no toxicity and, at the recommended doses, no significant side effects are reported. Consult a doctor during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
