MODE OF USE

The daily dose of 500 mg equal to 1 capsule, contains:
Eugenia Jambolana (eugenia) - seeds - powder 264 mg
Alpha-lipoic acid - powder 24 mg
Glycine - powder 16 mg
Glutamic acid - powder 11 mg
Chromium - powder 21 mcg
Biotin - powder 19 mcg

PROPERTIES OF THE COMPONENTS
Eugenia jambolana (2% ellagic acid):
Ellagic acid is a polyphenol with antioxidant activity present in pomegranate skin, but also
in raspberries, strawberries, red blueberries, and walnuts.
It is useful in peripheral glucose intolerance because:
it reduces post-meal glycemic peak by 20% and the consequent hyperinsulinemia. The
hypoglycemic effect is not present in healthy volunteers.
It inhibits alpha-glycosidase, an intestinal enzyme that facilitates carbohydrate absorption; this enzyme is present in the brush border of the intestinal mucosa, which
in the small intestine breaks down complex carbohydrates into monosaccharides. By delaying carbohydrate digestion, it delays the passage of glucose into circulation, allowing the pancreatic ß-cell to gradually increase insulin secretion. This reduces the post-prandial glycemic peak and insulin secretion. With these mechanisms, this type of substance helps prevent type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases in patients with impaired glucose tolerance.

Alpha-lipoic acid:
Induces a decrease in blood glucose levels, improves insulin sensitivity, thus insulin is produced in
smaller quantities: consequently, the amount of sugars that insulin can transport to tissues is reduced, and lipid deposits decrease. Also, better insulin sensitivity means improved muscle recovery and growth: if the muscle can store more glucose, it can convert it into larger glycogen stores. The increase in glycogen can lead to an increase in protein synthesis and an increase in muscle mass and efficiency. The hypoglycemic effect of alpha-lipoic acid is similar to that of metformin because it mainly acts at the liver by reducing gluconeogenesis. Additionally, alpha-lipoic acid, like metformin, activates the AMPK system (AMP mediated phosphokinase), an important cellular modulator of carbohydrate and lipid metabolism, which can detect the body's energy level. When energy levels drop below a certain threshold, the enzyme activates and induces a series of metabolic events:
it inhibits hepatic gluconeogenesis but also acts at the muscle level where it increases glucose utilization. Hepatic AMPK activation also induces a reduction in SREBP1 expression, a factor considered among the causes of insulin resistance, dyslipidemia, and diabetes; this results in decreased insulin secretion and a reduction in lipogenic enzymes, decreasing triglyceride synthesis and hepatic steatosis.

Glycine:
It is an amino acid with neurotransmitter action in the central nervous system. When taken with glucose, it can attenuate the glycemic response and consequently the corresponding insulin secretion.

Glutamic acid:
It is a non-essential amino acid involved in many metabolic processes. It is useful in brain metabolism, acting as an energy source and neurotransmitter, transporting potassium across the blood-brain barrier, helping the brain neutralize toxic substances like ammonia. It metabolizes sugars and fats and helps normalize blood glucose levels.

Chromium:
It is essential for the proper functioning of insulin, improves blood glucose control in the presence of insulin resistance and non-insulin-dependent diabetes, stimulates the metabolism of sugars and fats. According to recent studies, it stimulates weight loss, decreases total cholesterol and triglycerides, and increases HDL cholesterol, induces muscle mass increase during physical exercise, and has positive effects on longevity.

Biotin:
It is a component of the B complex, a coenzyme necessary for several fundamental body functions: involved in carbohydrate, protein, and fat metabolism.

CONTRAINDICATIONS AND SIDE EFFECTS
