Indications
Supplement for the lipid component of the eyelid and the eyelid margin even during inflammatory processes: redness, itching, and burning of the eyelids including those of iatrogenic nature secondary to the use of hypotonic eye drops containing carbonic anhydrase inhibitors. It is also useful for its soothing, emollient, and cleansing ability in the prevention and reduction of eyelid darkening and eyelash elongation including those induced by eye drops based on prostaglandin analogues.

Dose and method of use
Apply 1-2 sprays of PROLID OFTA® Spray onto the eye with the eyelids closed.
It is recommended to apply PROLID OFTA® Spray 3-4 times a day.
In case of severe discomfort, PROLID OFTA® Spray can be applied even more frequently.
Spray the product on the closed eye from a distance of about 10 cm.
It can also be used in the presence of cosmetics: in this case, apply only one spray from a greater distance (about 20 cm).
On the first use, make empty sprays and do not use the first nebulization.

PROLID OFTA® Ocular Spray helps restore the lipid component present on the eyelid margin in case of functional or tissue dressings. It has a protective activity and assists in the reparative processes of eyelid tissue. The action of PROLID OFTA® is manifested through the maintenance of the functionality of the eyelid margin and through an improvement of the elasticity of the eyelid tissue. Liposomes are small vesicles with a diameter ranging from 20 to 500 millionths of a millimeter (50-500 nm). They consist of a double layer of phospholipids containing an aqueous core that can incorporate hydrophilic active ingredients, while the phospholipid double layer can incorporate lipophilic active ingredients. This latter property allows for a better solubilization and availability of active ingredients that are normally not administrable in an aqueous phase due to their lipophilic nature. Vitamins A and E, for their soothing and emollient properties, contribute to maintaining the optimal state of the eyelid and periorbital tissue and, in synergy with liposomes, provide functional support to the lipid component present on the eyelid margin. Vitamin E is also a powerful antioxidant essential for counteracting the formation of free radicals, toxic substances for all tissues of the body, and prevents the degradation of Vitamin A. The combined use of liposomes containing Vitamin A and Vitamin E also facilitates the protective and reparative effect useful in all cases of redness, swelling, and eyelid itching.

Contraindications
Known hypersensitivity to the components of the product or other substances closely related chemically.

Warnings
Shake well before each use.
Do not touch the ocular surface with the nebulizer.
Accidental use with eyes open may cause a temporary burning sensation, which quickly disappears without consequences.
Do not use PROLID OFTA® Spray in conjunction with topical ophthalmic medications.
If other ophthalmic medications are administered in addition to PROLID OFTA® Spray, allow a 10-minute interval between the two applications.
Before use, check that the sprayer is correctly closed and undamaged.
Close the bottle tightly after use.
Do not use the product after the expiration date indicated on the bottle.
The product is for external ophthalmic use only.
Keep the preparation out of the reach and sight of children.

Storage
Do not store above 25°C.
