Description
Polyurethane foam absorbent dressing with border for the sacral area. Mepilex Border Sacrum can help prevent pressure injuries in the sacral region, used in addition to standard prevention protocols. It is suitable for managing a wide range of wounds that are very exudative, such as:
-pressure ulcers;
-traumatic wounds (e.g., skin lacerations and wounds healing by secondary intention).
The particular and unique 5-layer structure of Mepilex Border Sacrum allows redistributing and dissipating the forces responsible for pressure injury formation, namely friction, shear, and pressure, thanks to the ability of the various layers to slide over each other and deform.
The action of Mepilex Border Sacrum provides exudate control and maintains an ideal moist environment for wound healing:
-absorbs exudates vertically.
-thanks to the Safeatc contact layer, minimizes trauma during removal, protects the perilesional skin, and prevents maceration.
-can also be used in combination with gels.
-can be left in place during hyperbaric oxygen therapy.

Composition
1)Water vapor-permeable and liquid- and bacteria-proof polyurethane outer film.
2)Open-cell polyurethane foam absorbent pad with vertical absorption.
3)Non-woven fabric layer.
4)Superabsorbent polyacrylate fibers.
5)Silicone soft contact layer with the wound (Safetac Technology).

Directions for use
Clean the area to be protected or the wound depending on its use in prevention or treatment. Let the skin dry. Open the package and remove the protective paper. Correct removal of the film ensures sterile application. Apply the "Safetac" side of the dressing on the wound. Do not stretch the dressing. In treatment: for best results, the Mepilex Border Sacrum absorbent pad must cover the wound with a margin of about 2 cm beyond the wound. If additional securing of the dressing is necessary, fasten only the edges of the product. During removal, gently lift one side and slowly remove the dressing.

Warnings
For external use.
In case of infected wounds, use under medical supervision is recommended.
If there are signs of sensitivity in the treated area or clinical signs of infection, consult healthcare personnel.
Do not use Mepilex Border Sacrum with oxidizing agents such as hypochlorite solutions or hydrogen peroxide (hydrogen peroxide).
Do not use in sensitive patients or those allergic to components. The product is generally well tolerated. No interactions with other substances have been reported.

Storage
Store at room temperature away from extreme humidity, dust, pollutants, etc.
Validity with intact packaging: 3 years.
