SERIPNOL^® Drops is useful to promote relaxation and sleep.

The Melatonin helps reduce the time required to fall asleep. The beneficial effect is achieved by taking 1 mg of Melatonin shortly before bedtime. The dry extract of Jujube (Ziziphus jujuba) promotes relaxation and sleep.

MELATONIN
The melatonin is a natural substance produced by the pineal gland (epiphysis) and involved in the regulation of circadian and ultra-circadian rhythms of the organism. 
Shortly after the onset of darkness, its concentrations in the blood increase rapidly and peak between 2 and 4 in the morning, then gradually decrease as morning approaches.
A decline in melatonin with age has been confirmed by numerous studies. In subjects over 65 years of age, the decrease has been attributed to reduced exposure to light.
Numerous studies suggest that supplementation of melatonin may be useful in sleep disorders, particularly in insomnia. 

The decline in melatonin secretion with age is considered one of the main factors involved in the sleep disorders found in elderly subjects.

L-TEANINE
L-Teanine (γ-glutamylethylamide) is the main amino acid found exclusively in tea plants, especially in green tea.
L-Teanine is an important component for increasing alpha brain wave activity, useful for promoting relaxation, combating anxiety and insomnia. The generation of alpha brain waves is considered an indicator of relaxation. Recent studies, based on the observation of brain waves during electroencephalograms (EEG), have shown that supplementation with L-Teanine increases alpha waves, particularly present in meditative and/or restful states or characteristic of a state of well-being and relaxation.

L-Teanine acts as a neurotransmitter at the brain level, stimulating the production of alpha brain waves and causing a sensation of relaxation.


MAGNOLIA OFFICINALIS - ZIZIPHUS JUJUBA
The biphenolic components Magnolol and Honokiol (extract of Magnolia officinalis) and the flavonoid components (extract of Ziziphus Jujuba) have been used for centuries in Eastern phytotherapy for their anxiolytic and sleep-inducing properties.

The Magnolia officinalis, due to its content of honokiol and magnolol, is particularly indicated for the reduction of states associated with psychosomatic stress. It can indeed help reduce stress states promoting a significant relaxing action.

Zizyphus jujuba is a plant belonging to the Rhamnaceae family, native to southern China and central Asia. Scientific studies in the literature demonstrate that the beneficial effect exerted by Zizyphus Jujuba is linked to the decrease in activity of the monoaminergic system, which leads to a reduction in levels of central aminergic neurotransmitters. In fact, the accumulation of these mediators and the stimulation of their respective receptors cause overexcitation of the central nervous system, resulting in behavioral manifestations of hyperactivity, agitation, insomnia, and anxiety.

Method of use
Take 10 drops of the product (which provide 1 mg of Melatonin), shortly before bedtime, diluted in some water (50 ml). Shake the bottle well before each use.
