SERIPNOL^® Drops is useful to promote relaxation and sleep.

The Melatonin contributes to the reduction of the time needed to fall asleep. The beneficial effect is obtained with the intake, just before bedtime, of 1 mg of Melatonin. The dry extract of Jujube (Ziziphus jujuba) promotes relaxation and sleep.

MELATONIN
The melatonin is a natural substance produced by the pineal gland (epiphysis) involved in regulating the circadian and ultra-circadian rhythms of the body.
Shortly after darkness appears, its blood concentrations increase rapidly and reach a maximum between 2 and 4 am, then gradually decrease approaching morning.
A decline in melatonin with age has been confirmed by numerous studies. In subjects over 65 years old, the decrease has been attributed to reduced light exposure.
Several studies suggest that melatonin supplementation may be beneficial in sleep disorders, particularly in insomnia.

The decline in melatonin secretion with age is considered one of the main factors involved in sleep disturbances in the elderly.

L-THEANINE
L-Theanine (γ-glutamylethylamide) is the main amino acid found only in tea plants, particularly in green tea.
The L-Theanine is an important constituent to increase alpha brain wave activity, useful for promoting relaxation, fighting anxiety and insomnia. The generation of alpha waves is considered an index of relaxation. Recent studies, based on the observation of brain waves during EEG, have found that supplementation with L-Theanine increases alpha waves, especially present in meditative and/or resting states, or characteristic of a state of well-being and relaxation.

L-Theanine acts as a neurotransmitter in the brain, stimulating the production of brain alpha waves and causing a feeling of relaxation.


MAGNOLIA OFFICINALIS - ZIZIPHUS JUJUBA
The biphenolic components Magnolol and Honokiol (from Magnolia officinalis extract) and flavonoid components (from Ziziphus Jujuba extract) have been used for centuries in oriental phytotherapy for their anxiolytic and sleep-inducing properties.

Magnolia officinalis, for its content of honokiol and magnolol, is particularly suitable for reducing states associated with psychological stress. It can help reduce stress states by promoting a significant relaxing action.

Zizyphus jujuba is a plant belonging to the Rhamnaceae family, native to southern China and Central Asia. Scientific literature shows that the beneficial effect exerted by Zizyphus Jujuba is related to a decrease in activity of the monoaminergic system, leading to a reduction in central neurotransmitter levels. Indeed, the accumulation of these mediators and stimulation of their respective receptors causes hyperexcitation of the central nervous system, with behavioral symptoms such as hyperactivity, agitation, insomnia, and anxiety.

Directions for use
Take 10 drops of the product (which provides 1 mg of Melatonin), just before bedtime, diluted in a little water (50 ml). Shake the bottle well before each use.
