Description
UrgoClean Ag is an innovative dressing made of non-woven fabric, absorbent and gelling, composed of poly-absorbing fibers in polyacrylate that ensure a complete cleaning and debridement action (from slough, fibrin, exudate, bacterial residues, and biofilm) and a TLC-Ag lipido colloidal matrix that has an antimicrobial effect. The combined action of the TLC-Ag matrix and the poly-absorbing fibers allows for antimicrobial, anti-biofilm, and complete cleaning action.
- The TLC-Ag matrix of UrgoClean Ag gels upon contact with the wound exudate, reducing the bacterial load of the wound with a rapid and broad-spectrum action (tested on 36 bacterial strains and 4 yeasts, including antibiotic-resistant bacterial strains-MRSA, ERV, ESBL).
- In contact with the wound, the poly-absorbing fibers of UrgoClean Ag gelify and break the biofilm matrix, allowing silver ions to carry out their bactericidal action within the biofilm. The combined action of the poly-absorbing fibers and the TLC-Ag matrix has been shown to effectively reduce the concentration of sessile MRSA and P. aeruginosa bacteria within 24 hours and during 7 days (biofilm reduction > 99.99%). UrgoClean Ag's anti-biofilm action is superior to Ag+Extra Hydrofiber and to DACC dressings.
- UrgoClean Ag removes all factors that promote bacterial proliferation and may limit the action of silver. The poly-absorbing fibers of UrgoClean Ag absorb and trap slough, exudate, and biofilm residues through an electrostatic mechanism. UrgoClean Ag has clinically demonstrated after 4 weeks of treatment to reduce slough by 62.5% and to cleanse 59% of wounds (cleansed wound = wound covered with less than 30% slough).
- The dressing easily removes in one piece thanks to the acrylate core present in the poly-absorbing fibers.
- UrgoClean Ag ensures atraumatic and painless care thanks to the moist environment provided by the TLC-Ag3 matrix.
- UrgoClean manages minor bleeding due to its hemostatic properties.
- UrgoClean Ag is cuttable and can be used with a secondary dressing.
- UrgoClean Ag can be combined with compression therapy when prescribed.

Composition
Antimicrobial dressing entirely made of poly-absorbent acrylic fibers, cleansing and gelling agents, and a micro-adherent lipido colloidal matrix TLC-Ag (TLC-Ag: Lipido-Colloid Technology, composed of carboxymethylcellulose particles, lipid substances, and silver salts) to combat local infection through a combined antimicrobial/biofilm action and complete cleaning. UrgoClean Ag has the ability to cleanse and maintain the wound cleansed.

Usage instructions
Cleanse the wound using the conventional care protocol, then rinse with saline solution. If an antiseptic has been previously used, thoroughly rinse the wound with saline solution before applying UrgoClean Ag. The use of UrgoClean Ag does not eliminate the need for mechanical debridement if necessary. Remove the protective tabs and apply the micro-adherent part of UrgoClean Ag in contact with the wound and perilesional skin. If necessary, UrgoClean Ag can be cut with sterile scissors to adapt the size of the dressing to the wound. It is recommended to use a bandage to fix the dressing and ensure it stays in place. Additionally, UrgoClean Ag can be covered with a secondary dressing suitable for the wound location and level of exudation. If prescribed, apply compression therapy. The UrgoClean Ag dressing must be replaced every 1-2 days at the start of treatment, and subsequently as needed (up to 7 days), depending on the amount of exudate and the clinical condition of the wound. Treatment with UrgoClean Ag should not exceed one month.
The micro-adherent TLC-Ag matrix in UrgoClean Ag can adhere to latex surgical gloves. Therefore, it is recommended to moisten the gloves with normal saline to handle the dressing more easily. During debridement, the wound may appear larger than usual. This is due to the effective removal of slough.

Warnings
Not recommended in cases of known allergy to silver.
UrgoClean Ag is not recommended for use as a surgical sponge for highly exuding wounds.
Do not use UrgoClean Ag in combination with oxygen peroxide, organomercurial antiseptics, or antiseptics containing esamidine.
Do not use on patients undergoing Open MRI (MRI).
Treatment with UrgoClean Ag should be performed under medical supervision.
The use of UrgoClean Ag does not replace the need for systemic antibacterial treatment for infection, according to the local protocol.
Concomitant use with other local treatments is not recommended.
Avoid contact with electrodes or conductive gels used during EEG or ECG.
Healthcare personnel should be informed about limited information and scarce specific data on prolonged and repeated use of silver dressings, especially in children and newborns.
In the absence of specific clinical data, use during pregnancy or lactation is not recommended.
Sterile individual packaging, for single use only: reusing a disposable package may pose infection risks.
Do not re-sterilize the dressing.
Before use, ensure the sterile protective film is intact. Do not use if the package is damaged.

Storage
Store at room temperature away from light and heat sources.
Shelf life with intact packaging: 36 months.
